My first experience of truly inspiring leadership came in a NATO camp in the Balkans where I was serving as an officer with the British Army. Several hours after launching the most terrifying verbal attack on me for a mistake he thought I had made, the most senior British commander apologised for misunderstanding the situation and for humiliating me in front of others. I was struck by his sensitivity, humility and grace, and found my sense of loyalty and desire to impress him increased greatly in the time that followed.
Since then, I have been curious about how building self-awareness and self-mastery contributes to bringing out the best in oneself and others. I am passionate about helping leaders at all levels amplify their strengths, and work from a place of energy and connection, in order to bring their best self to work and enable their colleagues to flourish.
I have dedicated the past 20 years in civilian life to coaching and training, facilitating high-impact events, and supporting communication efforts to inspire change. I love to travel and have worked with clients all around the world, including spending 4 years in South Africa.
Clients say they value my pragmatic approach, enthusiasm and positive energy. In turn, I find myself greatly energised by the work I do and the people I encounter.
Alongside work, I’m a keen long-distance runner and qualified yoga teacher. These passions inform and occasionally make themselves known in my work(!) and certainly help me to be my best self when serving others.
